This past weekend, I joined The Unsung Collective in performances of the Mozart Requiem for this year's Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. The 36-member Unsung Collective, founded by Dr. Tyrone Clinton, features all singers of color, marking the first time in the festival's history to feature a vocal ensemble made of 100% artists of color. While the ensemble typically focuses its work on living composers of color, we made an exception for Mozart to mark this historic first at Lincoln Center.
The Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center is conducted by Maestro Louis Langré, who is in his 30th year as the Festival's conductor.
